He made the assertion while analysing Friday night’s Premier League curtain-raiser between the Gunners and local rival, Crystal Palace in which the North London club won 2-0 on Sky Sports.

According to him, Granit Xhaka is prone to committing needless fouls and picking cards and cannot be relied upon despite his experience.

Neville warned Arsenal gaffer, Mikel Arteta to find a solution or get prepared to face the consequences of banking on him.

Xhaka has been a divisive figure among the Arsenal fanbase, partly due to his poor disciplinary record but Mikel Arteta has consistently picked him to start every game.

He was shown another yellow card for diving by the match referee, Anthony Taylor, during the Gunners’ hard-fought 2-0 victory away over Crystal Palace on Friday.

And Neville hinted that Arteta may need to do something drastic about Granit Xhaka eventually if he doesn’t want to lose valuable points due to his indiscretion.

“Even Xhaka tonight, he got booked. I always think he is going to go and let you down.

“He is always going to let you down at some point in the season, so you think, you should plan for that now. You know it’s coming,” he said.
