English Premier League (EPL) giants Liverpool have agreed a deal with their La Liga counterparts, Barcelona, to sign Uruguayan defender Ronald Araújo on loan.
The 27-year-old only extended his contract with the Spanish outfit until 2031 last year.
However, he endured a tough 2025/2026 season and was given an extended leave of absence from the team.

According to Sky Sports, his impending move to Anfield could be wrapped up over the weekend, and the deal is a straight loan.
With this development, the Uruguay international is now set for a new country and a new league next season, barring the completion of his medical and other pending issues.
Araújo joined Barcelona from Uruguayan side Boston River in 2018, before being promoted to the first team in 2019.
Since joining the first team, the ball-playing defender has donned the Barça jersey a total of 147 times and scored 11 goals in all competitions.
