Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, on Sunday said Labour Party.(LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, can’t unseat incumbent president, Bola Tinubu in 2027 because he cannot penetrate northern Nigeria.
He made this known while featuring on Channels Television programme, ‘Politics Today’
In his words, Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have political structures in place in northern Nigeria.
Keyamo further blasted the opposition coalition floated on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying it won’t go far.
The minister, however, admitted that the oppositions are putting the ruling APC on its toes ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking during the interview, he said, “If you put Peter Obi this time as president, he cannot penetrate the north. We have our structures in the north. We have governors and our structures in the North.”

Keyamo went on to suggest that Christians won’t support the presidential ticket having former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi come 2027.
According to him, Nigerian pastors won’t come out to campaign for an 80-year-old Muslim president.
He said: “I want to do small expo, but it’s an expo that will not help them either way. Do you know what they are working on is that they want to bring Peter Obi and Atiku together.
“Once you make Obi the deputy to Atiku, the Christian demography will pull out of that 6 million votes Obi won in 2023.
“Don’t forget that the President also has a pastor who is a wife. So that Christian demographic we will snatch some of them and increase our votes.
“Don’t forget too that South-East demography that supported him, once it’s Atiku, they will pull out. They will not support him.
“The pastors cannot come out campaigning for an 80-year-old Muslim president. They will not do that. So they will lose that demography.”
