August 25 marks the birthday of Hon. Eunice Achimugu, a woman whose life reflects resilience, compassion, and an unwavering belief that the struggle for greatness begins at birth.
As she celebrates another year, Hon. Achimugu has chosen a path that reflects her values, not with lavish festivities, but by reaching out to orphanage homes and hospitals, where she donated food items, household materials, and cash gifts to the less privileged. Her celebration became a moment of compassion, gratitude, and hope for many vulnerable people.
At the heart of her political journey is her admiration for His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, whom she describes as a foster father in politics. According to her, Governor Ododo’s leadership is defined by openness, humility, inclusiveness, and uncommon generosity. She believes these qualities have inspired and strengthened many young leaders across Kogi State.

Hon. Achimugu has remained steadfast despite criticism and opposition. She believes that the trials and challenges people face are not obstacles but stepping stones to greatness. In her view, those often described as enemies are instruments of growth, helping to shape character, build resilience, and prepare one for a greater purpose. For her, every battle is best left in God’s hands.
Her story is one of perseverance against adversity. From humble beginnings to becoming a notable political figure in Lokoja and beyond, Hon. Achimugu has demonstrated that determination and hope can triumph over hardship. Her life is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the power of faith in difficult times.

Politically, she believes true heroism is not measured by power or position, but by the courage to keep moving forward despite setbacks, disappointments, and defeat. She continues to advocate for service, unity, and the empowerment of ordinary people.
During her visit to orphanage homes, the atmosphere was filled with emotion as she reflected on her life’s journey and shared words of encouragement with those present. Speaking through tears of gratitude, she urged Nigerians not to reject or condemn anyone because of their present circumstances, reminding them that the future remains a mystery known only to God.
She encouraged everyone to cultivate a pure heart, saying that hearts filled with bitterness, envy, jealousy, grudges, and unforgiveness leave little room for God’s presence. According to her, the human heart is the meeting point between God and humanity.
Hon. Achimugu also emphasized that the secret of lasting blessings lies in giving, especially to the poor, the vulnerable, and the downtrodden. She appealed to members of society never to exploit the weaknesses or vulnerability of others for personal gain.
In one of her most inspiring messages, she reminded the audience that every successful person has a painful story, and every painful story has a good ending. She stressed that vision fuels ambition, while discipline sustains success. In her words, discipline means staying focused while others are distracted, and it is the price every successful person must pay.
She concluded with a call for faith and hard work, saying: “Pray as if everything depends on God, and work as if everything depends on you.”
The birthday celebration attracted members of the Kogi State House of Assembly, political associates, community leaders, and prominent sons and daughters of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area. Their presence was a tribute to Hon. Eunice Achimugu’s continued commitment to the development of her community and her efforts toward the social and economic advancement of the people of Kogi State.
As Hon. Eunice Achimugu marks another year of life, her celebration serves as a reminder that leadership is best expressed through service, compassion, faith, and a commitment to uplifting others.
