Governor Uzodimma had earlier in his remarks beckoned on Tinubu to trust the governors of the APC with the responsibility of electioneering.
President Bola Tinubu has assured the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, that he will not take the trust he has in him lightly, promising to do what is within his power to keep earning Uzodimma’s trust.
President Tinubu, who spoke at the inauguration of members of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) at the State House, Aso Rock, Abuja on Wednesday, paid glowing tribute to Uzodimma, who incidentally is the Secretary of the PCC, for the huge contributions the Imo State Governor had made for the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government.
President Tinubu said such commitments and contributions to the party, the government and the country could not be forgotten in a hurry, particularly by himself.
Tinubu’s speech, marked by warmth and appreciation at the inauguration, read in parts: “I thank the Council Secretary and the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Governor Hope Uzodimma, for all the commendable things you have done.
“I do not take your trust lightly, and by the grace of God, I intend to keep earning it. Earning your trust is extremely important to me.”
President Tinubu took time to appreciate all members of the PCC, the entire APC family as well as his personal supporters from other political parties and challenged everyone to continue with the work they began in 2023 when he was first elected until he is reelected come January next year.
The President also hinted that he may not be everywhere in the country for electioneering because he trusts the ability and capabilities of his lieutenants to deliver his message of Renewed Hope and Shared Prosperity to Nigerians.
Governor Uzodimma had earlier in his remarks beckoned on the President to trust the governors of the APC with the responsibility of electioneering to do the needful as they traverse the nooks and crannies of the country to galvanise support and canvass for votes for all candidates of the APC in the election.
Uzodimma reiterated he is confident that President Tinubu has, with his reforms and other verifiable achievements, given the PCC and all APC members enough raw materials to campaign at the polling units, wards, local government areas and states, and win convincingly by January next year.
