A group of armed men dressed in military uniforms have attacked a commercial bus along the Kabba-Okene Highway in Kogi State early Monday morning.
According to a trending video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the gunmen opened fire on the bus before forcing several passengers into a nearby bush. Witnesses said the attack caused travelers to panic and run for safety, leaving behind their bags and other belongings.
At least a dozen passengers were reportedly abducted, while others were injured during the ambush. The exact number of people kidnapped is still unclear.
Security officers have since arrived at the scene and begun a search and rescue operation. Local residents say the Kabba-Okene route has become dangerous in recent months due to the repeated attacks by armed groups.
