Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has dismissed the notion that he and his players are feeling the tension as the Premier League run-in nears its conclusion.

He made the comments on Saturday night while speaking to reporters following his team’s 3-0 win over Brentford at the Etihad.

The crucial encounter was initially on a knife-edge after the first half finished with both teams unable to breach each other’s defence.

However, second-half goals from Jeremy Doku, Erling Haaland, and Omar Marmoush ensured the Cityzens moved to within two points of Arsenal with three games remaining.

While analysing the match, Guardiola noted that the lowest Manchester City can now finish this season is second place.

When asked if he was enjoying the title race, he replied: “I love it! I love to be here again.

“We’ll finish second this season minimum; I love it, I love to be here. Tension? No, no, no. When you arrive and have the feeling that the job has been good, well done!”

Following the win, Guardiola and his side will be hoping that relegation-threatened West Ham can take points off Arsenal on Sunday to further aid their title charge.
