Gombe Emir’s Cup football tourney resumes quarter finals Saturday

The quarter-finals of Gombe Emir’s Cup 2026 will continue Saturday, 18July at Deba Township Stadium.
According to the fixture released ahead of the knock out stages, Gombe Emirate Council will take on Funakaye Council for a place in the Semi-Finals.
Both teams have earned their places at this stage, and tomorrow’s result will determine which team moves to the semis.
The tournament is sponsored by hon. Ahmad Shuaibu Gara Gombe, the Chief Executive Officer of Green White Green firm as part of his community service for the development and unity across the state.
The match is expected to start at 3.OO pm as both teams have skillful and talented young players to advance.
Interestingly, soccer pundits may not easily predict the outcome of the game until after 90 minutes encounter as supporters of both teams across Gombe State are expected to throng the venues en-mass to witness the match.
The next quarter finalist matches involving the late Shehu Abubakar team would be between Tula traditional council on Sunday, July 19, Pindiga versus Nafada Emirate council on July 20 while Dukku Emirate council team will face Dadiya traditional council on July 21.
Football enthusiasts that spoke on the on-going soccer duels have applauded the sponsor and organisers for his foresight and commitment in reviving Emir’s Cup in the state.
Dates for the semi and final matches would be announced in due course.
