Flying Eagles of Nigeria came back from a goal down and forced Colombia to a 1-1 draw in their final group game of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup played at the Estadio Fiscal de Talca, Chile on Monday morning.
With the result, they finished as one of the best four third-place teams and qualified for the Round of 16 of the competition.
Nigeria put up an impressive performance in the intriguing encounter, showing resilience and attacking flair throughout the game.

Despite this, it was Colombia who took the lead in the 51st minute through Kener Gonzalez, who converted a pass from Neyser Villareal.
Nigeria, however, refused to give up and got a deserved equaliser in the 86th minute when captain Daniel Bameyi calmly converted a penalty after a Colombian defender handled Maigana’s goal-bound effort.
The Flying Eagles nearly grabbed all the three points three minutes later, but Arierhi’s shot was blocked inside the box.
Nigeria will now face Argentina in the Round of 16 at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos in Santiago on Wednesday.
