Agun passed away after delivering his keynote address at an event organised by IAWPA.

Edo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gbenga Agun has slumped and died.
He passed away on Thursday in Benin City at an event organised by the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA).
Witnesses at the event said he slumped a few minutes after delivering his keynote address.
Agun was later rushed to the Military Hospital at Airport Road, Benin City, for medical attention, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Confirming the incident, a senior official of the NSCDC, who pleaded anonymity, claimed he was fine before the event.
“He didn’t show any sign of ill-health. He slumped and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.” he said.
As at the time of writing this report,
the Edo NSCDC Command and the national headquarters of the agency are yet to comment on the development.
