Human rights lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju has told Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi to proceed to court after he threatened him with a lawsuit.
He dared the former Anambra State Governor after his legal team, EJESIMEN & CO MADIBA CHAMBERS, accused him of defaming Obi via remarks he made on X and other social media platforms.
The notice, particularly referred to a post made in August 21, where Adeyanju accused Obi of stealing from Anambra State coffer to invest in his family business.
In the post, the activist claimed that he met with the former governor and he (Obi) tried to bribe him.
Obi’s legal team demanded a public retraction of the alleged defamatory remarks alongside an unreserved apology from the Abuja based lawyer.
Reacting to the letter in a post shared on his official Facebook page Wednesday night, Adeyanju said he is ready to meet Obi in court.
He also doubled down on his earlier claims by labelling the LP chieftain a “fraud”.
He wrote, “I can’t wait to meet him in court finally. A fraud parading himself as a messiah”.
