Arsenal midfielder, Declan Rice has admitted that he and his teammates showed naivety during the league game against Manchester United on Sunday, adding that “a bit of stupidity” could have cost them the encounter.
He made this known while speaking after the game played at Old Trafford ended 1-1.
Rice rescued a point for the Gunners after Bruno Fernandes had opened the scoring with a stunning free-kick.
Although David Raya’s positioning for Fernandes’ goal has been criticised in several quarters, the Spaniard produced a number of excellent saves to ensure Arsenal secured a point.
Speaking on the encounter, Rice said Arsenal dominated the first half but lacked the cutting edge.

He added that the North London club did things they haven’t done all season, and “could easily have handed the game to Man United”
Rice said, “I think in the first half we had some beautiful bits of play but lacked that clinical cutting edge.
“Then, in the second half, we did things we haven’t done all season. We were very naive in the last 10 minutes. We could easily have handed the game to Man United because they have that individual quality and threat.
“A bit of stupidity from us, but it was good to get back in the game and keep pushing.
“We had another chance with Martin at the end. It was an end-to-end game and probably a fair point in the end.”
