British pundit and former Chelsea star, Chris Sutton, has suggested that his former side could be annihilated in Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester City.
He expressed this fear while providing his predictions for the match in his column for BBC Sport.
Chelsea, after edging past Leeds 1-0 in the semi-finals, will face City, who came from behind to beat Southampton, in this year’s FA Cup showpiece at Wembley Stadium.
While the final represents the Blues’ last opportunity for silverware this season and a route into Europe, it presents an avenue for Pep Guardiola and his men to pick up a second trophy.
Analysing the encounter in his write-up, Sutton backed City to put five goals past Chelsea without reply.

According to him, the Manchester club’s decision to rest the likes of Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki and others during their 3-0 midweek league win over Crystal Palace makes the task more daunting for the London club.
He further noted that Chelsea have been in too poor a form all season to take anything from the cup final.
Sutton wrote: “Pep rested players in midweek when City beat Crystal Palace and left Erling Haaland out.
“Haaland will be back in the team at Wembley, though, and he will benefit from the rest, along with the likes of Rayan Cherki.
“Chelsea have been patchy all season, and if they have one of their bad days, then this could get a bit messy for them. Chelsea 0-5 Man City.”
