The Opta Supercomputer seems unmoved by Manchester City’s late surge, insisting Arsenal will end their 22-year wait for the Premier League title this season.

On Wednesday night, a much-changed City side defeated visiting Crystal Palace 3-0 in a tricky game in which Erling Haaland was an unused substitute.

Phil Foden produced a sublime backheel to play Antoine Semenyo in on goal, and the Ghanaian produced a clinical strike past Dean Henderson, before Omar Marmoush doubled the lead, spinning and finishing following another Foden pass.

Full-back Tyrick Mitchell’s thumping effort immediately after the opening goal—which was pushed away by Gianluigi Donnarumma—was Palace’s best effort, before Savinho added a third for the hosts late on to complete a fine victory.

The result keeps Pep Guardiola’s side two points off the Gunners, with both sides having two fixtures remaining.

Despite this, Opta—which has backed Arsenal to lift the Premier League for some time—gave the North London outfit a 85.68% chance of becoming champions.

Mikel Arteta’s men host already relegated Burnley before they travel to Palace on the final day.

The Supercomputer has predicted that Arsenal will finish with around 83 points—the lowest tally for a Premier League title winner since Leicester City with 81.

It also predicted that City will lose out on the title race by just three points.
