Christian author and lawyer Dolly Ohanyere has unveiled The Becoming Collection, a six-book series on Identity, Purpose and Relationship, saying it is designed to promote healthy homes and a healthy nation.
Describing the collection as “life changing, Ohanyere at the launch on Sunday in Lagos said the books were written to help youths, singles and married people understand who they are before making life decisions.
She said the family is not just where we begin. It is where we are formed, adding that broken family systems produce broken individuals. “Broken individuals produce broken marriages. And broken marriages produce broken Children. And broken children grow up to become the leaders, the legislators, the judges, the teachers, and the parents of the next generation,” she said.
Ohanyere stressed that the state of our nation is a direct reflection of the state of our families. “We cannot fix what is happening in our society without going back to where it begins — our homes.”
She added that her vision is to see marriages thrive, not just survive, noting that the books provide knowledge, tools and framework to build healthy homes and reach God-given potential.
“I did not write these books to make money,” she said “I wrote because I believe these books carry something transformational. They will change the way people think about themselves before they choose a partner.”
Among her six books; The Mirror, It Was Always There, Wells and Encounters, Wells and Encounters -Daily Devotional, Meaningful Choosing, Seen from the Start.
She said the most challenging was Wells and Encounters. “You heard everybody say Wells and Encounters because it was my experience, basically. I started writing that book from my pain.”
“So it was very challenging because it was about my story, told differently, very empowering, because I want women to know that you’re not what you’ve been through. Your circumstances do not define who you are. God has created you for more,” she said.
Speaking at the event, Apostle Isi Igenegba, Founder, People of Influence Network described the author as an amazing woman and commended her strength.
She affirmed that the six books would transform lives and called for their wide circulation.
She said there is something inherent about a book: “God is interested in books because He writes. Books are holy, and by taking this bold step you are in tune with God. This work will speak for generations to come,” she said.
Present at the event were Charles Oputah, popularly known as Charly Boy, Mr. Kayode Oladapo, Managing Director, Godrej Nigeria Limited, Dr. Adaobi Nwakuche and Dr Enahoro Okhae, CEO Pause Factory Limited
