It was a dark day in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, on Monday as a director with the Local Government Service Commission, Mr David Jejelowo, was assassinated by unknown gunmen.
TheNiche gathered that the gruesome killing of the senior Council official was carried out by the unknown assailants early this morning at his residence located at Umesi street, Igirigiri area of Ado-Ekiti metropolis.
The killing of Mr. Jejelowo has thrown the whole community into mourning as people were seen in groups discussing the incident.
But, it could not immediately be ascertained how and why the senior Council official was murdered.
Howevver, when contacted, the Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Sunday Abutu, confirmed the killing.
He said investigation had commenced to unravel the details behind the dastardly act.
Abutu promised to provide more information to journalists as investigation progresses.
