The first blood was drawn at Gethsemane

Where he prayed and burst his veins

Little blood from burst pores seeped out

First blood was drawn in Gethsemane

Before the soldiers with clubs and staffs arrested him

Before Peter denied him n his fellow ran away naked

Before Pontius Pilate had him scourged

Before they dressed his head with thorny crown,

Before Pilate washed his permanently blood-stained hands-

Jesus at Gethsemane sweated blood!

Riding into Jerusalem

I love to see a prince ride gallantly into town

This prince on virgin donkey rode down

The streets of Jerusalem; at the sight of him roar –

Praises that drove him to Gethsemane to roar –

Sweating blood, and while servants slept –

Arrested him, soldiers with clubs and sword kept –

Vigil over him, who a like lamb led to the slaughter

Yielded himself to stripes and thorny crown, utter –

Nothing but moans and prayers for his father’s will.

Not His Way…

If he could have his way

He’ll command angels without number

To fight and kill and save himself

But his way laid him at the feet of his Father’s Will.

This leader cares for the led more

Than himself at all,

So, he yielded his ghost to give us his life

Our redemption, with his life he paid

Little Jesus (humorous)

Little Jesus wast Thou shy

Once, and just so small as I?

Out of Heaven, and just like me?

And did Thy mother let Thee spoil

Thy robes, with playing on our soil?

It’s Jesus Week! Walk through this week with Him and pay Him your respects. Reciprocate His Love ordeal for you from the Garden at Gethsemane to Pontius Pilate’s Court, through the streets of Jerusalem and down to Golgotha where He died to set you and I free at Calvary.

Happy Easter!
