Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has hinted that Sporting CP forward, Viktor Gyokeres, may soon link up with other members of the squad.
He made this known while addressing journalists after the north London team landed in Singapore for a preseason tour.
The Gunners have been involved in a drawn-out negotiation for Gyokeres, who is desperate to ply his trade at the Emirates stadium.
Although there is a broad agreement over a £63m deal, the Portuguese champions are determined to ensure the add-ons are easily achievable.
When asked about the transfer saga, Arteta said he does speak about players who are still contracted to other clubs.
“I cannot comment on any player who is not part of our group yet.” he said.
He, however, admitted that Arsenal need to bring in more players before the start of the new English Premier League (EPL) season.
Speaking on new signings joining the squad in Asia, Arteta added: “There’s a still time in the window. In terms of numbers we are short.”
