Arsenal began the defence of their English Premier League (EPL) title in emphatic fashion, thrashing newly promoted side Coventry City 3-0 at the Emirates.

Prior to kick-off against Lampard’s Sky Blues, who were playing their first top-flight match in 25 years, new Gunners signing Konsa was introduced to the home crowd.

Mikel Arteta’s men doubled their advantage just eight minutes later after the Coventry keeper spilled a ball from Christos Tzolis, leaving Bukayo Saka with an easy finish.

In the second half, Arsenal made it 3-0 after a move initiated by Declan Rice found Ben White, who hooked it back for Martin Odegaard, who netted despite mishitting the ball.
