Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 11 organisers have explained why one of the contestants, Neche, bowed out of the reality TV show despite not being evicted.
MultiChoice Nigeria and the Big Brother Naija production team clarified why she made a voluntary exit from the show in a statement released on Monday.
Neche announced to the other housemates that she was leaving following Sunday’s live eviction show. She did not disclose the reason for her decision to them at the time, leaving several of them emotional.
She subsequently removed her microphone and name tag before proceeding to the diary room to complete the exit process.

However, according to the organisers, Neche ended her pursuit of the ₦160 million grand prize due to pressing personal matters that required her immediate attention.
“Neche took this decision as a result of pressing personal matters, which she said required immediate attention,” the statement read.
The production team noted that it respected Neche’s decision and praised her energy and commitment throughout her time on the show.
The organisers further disclosed that Neche’s stay in the house was marked by “notable wins and achievements”, highlighting her contribution to the season.
