Keep children safe for nation’s future, school proprietress, Oladosu urges Nigerians

The Proprietress of Pillar of Light Children School, Evangelist Victoria Oladosu, has called on Nigerians to prioritise the safety and well-being of children, stressing that the future of the nation depends largely on how well its young population is protected and nurtured.
She made this appeal during the graduation ceremony for Final year pupils of the school, where she expressed concern over the prevailing security challenges in the country.
Oladosu noted that the current situation in Nigeria demands collective responsibility, especially in safeguarding children from harm, neglect, and societal vices.
According to her, the increasing insecurity across various parts of the country should serve as a wake-up call for citizens, parents, and authorities to take proactive steps in ensuring a safer environment for the younger generation.
She emphasised that security is not solely the responsibility of government but a shared duty that involves communities, families, and institutions.
“Our security is very important,” she said, urging Nigerians to be vigilant and committed to protecting children in homes, schools, and public spaces.
The proprietress further highlighted the potential of children as future leaders, noting that the investments made in their safety, education, and moral upbringing today will determine the quality of leadership and societal progress tomorrow.
She expressed optimism that with proper guidance and protection, Nigerian children would rise to occupy strategic positions both locally and globally.
Oladosu concluded by reaffirming her commitment to child development through education and moral instruction, calling on stakeholders in the education sector to collaborate in building a secure and supportive environment where children can thrive and fulfil their destinies as representatives of the nation in high place
However, Pastor Oladosu, in his exhortation at the ceremony, began by expressing deep gratitude to God for His enduring mercy over the children and their parents.
He emphasized that the gathering itself was a testament to divine grace, noting that God’s protection and provision had sustained the families through challenges.
Drawing from Scripture, he reminded the congregation that God’s mercies are renewed daily, urging everyone to remain thankful and steadfast in faith.
Speaking on his sermon titled “Allow Peace in Our Society,” the pastor stressed the urgent need for peace as the foundation for progress and development.
He explained that no society can thrive where there is division, hatred, or conflict and urged individuals to become active promoters of peace in their communities, workplaces, and homes.
Pastor Oladosu particularly highlighted the importance of peace within families, especially between husbands and wives.
According to him, the home is the smallest unit of the nation, and when peace reigns in the home, it naturally extends to the wider society.
Turning to the children, he admonished them to be obedient and respectful to their parents, noting that this is not only a moral duty but a divine commandment.
he explained that obedience brings blessings, longevity, and favor from God. He encouraged the children to cultivate discipline and humility as they grow.
In conclusion, the pastor called on all members of the society to embrace peace as a collective responsibility, reiterated that national development cannot be achieved without unity and harmony among citizens.
The graduation ceremony witnessed a variety of presentations by the pupils such as cultural dances, essay and poetry presentations, drama, prayers for the students and teachers as well as presentation of prizes to graduands who distinguished themselves morally and academically.
