Norway striker Erling Haaland has said he and his teammates are not favourites to win the 2026 World Cup, insisting that the possibility of such an occurrence is “really low”.

The Manchester City forward made this known ahead of their quarter-final clash against England’s Three Lions on Saturday.

Norway beat Brazil 2-0 in the last 16, thanks to a Haaland double, while 10-man England edged Mexico 3-2 last Sunday.

Asked about Norway’s chances of winning the World Cup for the first time in their history, Haaland said: “Really low, still.”

He went on to say Thomas Tuchel’s men are one of the favourites to win the tournament’s coveted trophy.

He added: “I think there are some clear favourites out there. England is one of them.

“I think all of you should put every single pressure on the English lads.”

Haaland has scored seven times at this year’s World Cup. He is just one goal behind Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi in the race for the Golden Boot.
