British pundit and former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer has suggested the possible outcomes of this weekend’s games.
He made his predictions on Friday while analysing the Matchday 33 fixtures on Betfair.
According to Shearer, there will be several big clashes across the Premier League, with Arsenal’s trip to the Etihad to face Manchester City serving as the standout game.
Although the Gunners boast a six-point lead over Pep Guardiola’s side, Shearer backed City to win the encounter based on form.
He said: “The whole season effectively comes down to this game. I think it’s huge and the biggest game of the season for both clubs.
“Confidence and momentum is such a big thing, which is why I’m going to say a Man City home win. I think the belief they’ll get from beating Arsenal in the Carabao Cup and the performances of the last couple of weeks [will see them through].”

On the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and local rivals Everton on the same day, the former England forward acknowledged that while form usually dictates a favourite, derbies are different.
Despite their league positions, he believes the tie is unpredictable and will likely end in a draw.
He said: “It’s a tough one. You know what I’m like when it comes to derby games. I’m going to sit on the fence and say it’s going to be a draw. I was going to say it’s to keep both fans happy, but I’m not sure they will be.
“Everton are having a tough season whereas Liverpool are pushing on, but I still think it’ll be a draw.”
He went on to tag Chelsea’s game against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as another heavyweight encounter of the weekend.
He tipped the home side to come out on top, suggesting the Red Devils struggle defensively and the Blues will likely exploit those gaps.
“It’s a huge game and probably one that Chelsea have to win if they want to play Champions League football next season.
“I was disappointed with Man United on Monday evening; they were really flat and are struggling defensively with Maguire and Martinez out. I think I’m going to go for Chelsea to win this one—Chelsea to win at home,” Shearer noted.
