Princess celebrates after judge jails Baba Ijesha

Popular Nigerian comedienne and actress, Damilola Adekoya, better known as Princess recently took to social media to celebrate the sentencing of her colleague, Olanrewaju Omiyinka a.k.a Baba Ijesha, to 16 years in prison. 

Baba Ijesha was jailed by an Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court after he was found guilty of sexual assault on a 14-year-old.

The comic actor was sentenced on Thursday, July 14, after he was found guilty of four counts out of six counts of child defilement by Justice Taiwo Oluwatoyin, but the 16-year jail term is expected to run concurrently for five years.

Princess, whose foster child was the victim in the case, has taken to social media to celebrate the verdict after  Baba Ijesha was found guilty of molesting the minor and led away by the prison officials.

She took to her official Instagram account to post a video of herself singing a praise song to God for being victorious as she danced for joy.  

The lyrics of the song also seemed to aptly capture the actress’s mood, as it read “that what I used to be taunted for has now turned into celebration”.

Her post was followed by a series of mixed reactions from netizens, while some people joined her to praise God and congratulated her, others felt it was an overkill. 

Meanwhile, Grace Jimoh, the baby mama of Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi recently chastised the comedienne for cursing her child on social media.  

Grace warned Princess that there are repercussions for cursing innocent people and advised her to focus on the child’s father with whom she has issues.

She wrote, “There are some children that naturally have back to sender spirit. Curse whosoever that offended you. These children are innocent!!! God made you win. He did no evil.”
