Yvonne Jegede shares robbery ordeal on 3rd Mainland Bridge

Yvonne Jegede urged Lagosians to stay safe while driving on the bridge, telling them that the robbers target mostly people driving alone

Famous Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede, on Friday revealed how she escaped a robbery attempt by a roadside robber in Lagos.

She took to her social media to share her ordeal, as she disclosed the incident occurred on Thursday, May 19 at around 9pm on the Third Mainland Bridge. 

According to the thespian, the robber was about to strike her when the traffic moved a bit and she seized the opportunity to move her car from the spot.

She added that on noticing that she had moved her car the robber became a little uncomfortable and disappeared into the thin air.   

She wrote, “Last night at about 9pm, one guy almost robbed me on 3rdMB. I was lucky the traffic moved a bit so I moved my car and then he took off.”

Yvonne Jegede then stated that her attacker jumped out from under the bridge at Oworonshoki and appealed to the Lagos State government and security agencies to clear out the area. 

She also urged Lagosians to try and stay safe while driving on the bridge, telling them that the robbers target mostly people driving alone.

Jegede said “Under the bridge at Oworonshoki needs to be sanitized. The guy jumped out from under the bridge. They target people driving alone. Be safe guys,” 

The mother of one went on to share a screenshot of her initial tweet on the incident on her Instagram page and gave valuable advice to those driving alone on the bridge. 

 She added, “If you are driving alone in traffic, don’t drive on the fast lane (the last lane by your left), let your car be in between cars.

“Ladies especially, if you can, please stay wherever you are till you see daylight. There is hunger in town.”

Reacting to the incident, fellow Nollywood actress, Georgina Onuoha thanked God for the safety of her colleague. She wrote; ”Thank God, you’re safe.”
