Aare Ona Kakanfo Designate and National Coordinator of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Gani Adams, has said that he would not disappoint the Yoruba race.
Adams, who will be installed as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo tomorrow (Saturday), said that his commitment to the peace and security of not only the Yoruba but Nigeria is total.
He stressed that with justice and honesty to all through exemplary leadership the country would soar higher.
He told The Niche that he would continue to strive to ensure that there was peace, unity and good security within the region, just as he wants the federal government to adequately tackle the herdsmen-farmers’ continued clash.
“At every point in time I have stood for justice and going by what destiny has bestowed on me concerning my struggles, I will not disappoint my people.
“I will at all time be committed to the peace, unity and security of the Yoruba race and by extension my country. We need peace to live together and we cannot compromise peace. This is because without peace there will be no progress.
“There is the need for government to look inwards and find lasting solution to this endless herdsmen-farmers clashes. We need peace in this country” he noted.

Already, President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Otunba Adams, on his new position, charging him to use the opportunity to work for the peace, unity and progress in the land.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, President Buhari also commended the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, for choosing Adams for the exalted position.
