Wike also claimed that Atiku and Amaechi do not stand any chance of securing the mandatory 25% constitutional vote share in Rivers State.

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has fired a salvo at the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, describing their ticket as a “joint ticket of corruption”.
The former Rivers State governor launched the scathing attack on the duo on Monday during a town hall interactive meeting with the Rumueme and Apara kingdoms in the Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Speaking at the event, Wike recalled the verdict former President Olusegun Obasanjo passed on Atiku, who served as his Vice-President.
According to him, the Adamawa State-born politician cannot lay claim to moral integrity, having a monumental baggage of corruption that was laid bare by his former boss.

Turning to the ADC vice-presidential candidate, Amaechi, the FCT boss noted that his inclusion only worsened an already morally bankrupt ticket.
Addressing the gathering, Wike said: “When I saw Atiku on television yesterday, asking Nigerians to take any money given to them by people from the party in power, saying that it will be stolen money, I said, ‘Haa, Atiku is now an apostle of anti-corruption? ADC’s Atiku-Amaechi ticket is a joint ticket of corruption.’
“The same Atiku whose boss described him as corrupt and said one of his major regrets was making him vice-president is talking.”
The minister also noted that Atiku and Amaechi’s coalition does not stand any chance of securing the mandatory 25% constitutional vote share in Rivers State.
