Nigeria’s senate president, Ahmed Lawan, has disclosed that next week will be devoted towards the process for the amendment of the 1999 constitution, a document many Nigerians have described as fraudulent.
Lawan said due to the urgency in amending the constitution, the senate would not meet in plenary throughout next week.
He said the week would be devoted to the zonal public hearing on the Review of the 1999 Constitution. “We shall be devoting the entire week to the constitution review exercise.”
