Barcelona defender Gerard Martin has dismissed the possible impact of the marquee signings being made by Spanish rivals Real Madrid for their new manager, Jose Mourinho, insisting, “We only focus on ourselves.”
He made this known recently during an interview with COPE while discussing how both clubs are approaching the transfer window.
Barcelona won the La Liga title ahead of Real Madrid last season and will hope to repeat the feat this campaign.
However, Los Blancos have so far signed high-profile players like Ibrahima Konate, Bernardo Silva, Denzel Dumfries, and Marc Cucurella in this summer transfer window.

Reacting to how busy their main rivals have been in the transfer market, Martin insisted that the Blaugrana do not care who Real Madrid sign.
According to him, the Catalan club is solely focused on itself ahead of the new season.
”Let them sign whoever they want. Frankly, I don’t care who Real Madrid sign.
”We only focus on ourselves. We will compete as we do every year,” Martin said.
