The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) has commended President Goodluck Jonathan for providing the necessary support to the Super Eagles to play at the World Cup starting in Brazil on Thursday.

Mr Ahmed Fresh, Chairman of Youth Development of the federation, made the commendation in an interview with newsmen in Minna on Thursday.
“Mr President has provided the necessary support for us to ensure the successful outing of the Super Eagles at the mundial.
‘’He is the number one supporter of Super Eagles and has been solidly behind them since the World Cup campaign began,’’ he said.
Fresh said the NFA had fulfilled its obligation to the team in the area of camping, friendly matches, transportation to Sao Paulo and payment of bonuses.
“We have a very formidable base for the Super Eagles in Brazil. No team has such a base because ours consist of training pitches and all the facilities are of international standard.
“NFA has also agreed to pay the 10,000 dollars win bonuses; no rancour in that aspect for now.
“All we just want is for the players and technical crew to do the nation proud. ’’
Fresh, who is also a member of Technical and Development Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), urged the team to remain focused because Nigerians were expecting better outing from them.
He also urged Nigerians to pray for the Eagles to have a successful outing in Brazil.
“Let me say emphatically that when Super Eagles are playing, streets in Nigeria are always deserted; that is the only time Nigerians come together as one entity.”
