Vitinha names Nuno Mendes as world’s best left-back ahead of PSG-Bayern UCL clash

Mendes has netted four goals and provided three assists in all competitions for PSG this season.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) midfielder, Vitinha, has said his teammate, Nuno Mendes, is currently the world’s best left-back.

​He made this known ahead of PSG’s UEFA Champions League (UCL) clash against Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich, at Parc des Princes on Tuesday night.

​Mendes, who is an international teammate of Vitinha in the Portugal national football team, was impressive for the French champions last season.

He was instrumental in helping the team win four major trophies last year: the UEFA Champions League, the French Ligue 1 title, the UEFA Super Cup, and the French Cup.

​The 23-year-old joined the Parisians from Portuguese side Sporting CP in 2022 and has netted four goals and provided three assists in all competitions for PSG so far this season.

​Speaking ahead of their UCL group match later today, Vitinha hailed Mendes for his exploits.
