Moroccan second-division club USM Oujda has terminated the contract of Senegalese midfielder Issa Ndiaye following his reaction to the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) decision to strip his country of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title.

On Tuesday, the CAF appeal board—following a protest from Morocco—withdrew the AFCON 2025 title originally won by Senegal.

According to the board, the Teranga Lions’ decision to walk off the pitch for 17 minutes during the final violated the competition’s regulations.

Despite Senegal winning the thrilling final 1-0 on the pitch, CAF nullified the result and awarded a 3-0 victory to the Atlas Lions.

In the wake of the ruling, Ndiaye allegedly mocked CAF’s decision to award the title to Morocco. USM Oujda deemed the player’s public comments disrespectful to the host nation and subsequently dismissed him.
