Nollywood actor and producer Solomon Akiyesi has passed away.
His death was confirmed on Monday by the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Abubakar Yakubu.
According to the AGN boss, the veteran thespian died in his sleep on Sunday, 26 April 2026.
He added that Akiyesi’s remains have been deposited in a morgue in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
“Yes, it is true. He died yesterday. He went to sleep and did not wake up. We await further details from the family. His body is in the morgue in Abuja where the sad incident happened,” Yakubu said.

The AGN President further stated that the guild is expecting more information from the deceased’s family regarding the circumstances of his passing.
Since the news of his demise broke, tributes have poured in from colleagues and fans across various social media platforms.
Akiyesi hailed from Ososo in the Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State and began his acting career in the late 1990s.
The actor, who featured in over 100 films, appeared in major productions such as Marry Who You Love, Heart of a Saint, Deadly Affair, and Pretty Liars.
