The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed the arrest of social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, over multiple allegations of cyberstalking.
Speaking to BBC News Pidgin on Monday, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale said Mr Otse was taken into custody following petitions from several individuals.

“We arrested him to respond to a series of allegations raised against him by some petitioners,” Oyewale stated.
“We will release him when he meets the bail conditions and we will take the case to court as soon as possible; we are law-abiding.”
Oyewale clarified that the case is unrelated to Guaranty Trust Bank, adding that the complaints came from different individuals whom the agency has a duty to protect.
He confirmed that the commission is making arrangements to arraign the influencer in court.
