The chief of staff to the United States First Lady Melania Trump, Stephanie Grisham, has resigned from her post effective immediately.
Her resignation is coming after a mob stormed the United States Congress to block the certification of President Elect, Joe Biden, as the 46th President of the US.
According to reports, Grisham is a longtime associate of Mrs Trump, and was also a former White House spokeswoman.
Grisham gave no reasons for her unexpected resignation, but simply said it was an honour to serve the outgoing administration.
