Nigeria’s Flying Eagles avoided early exit from the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup going on in Chile after a dramatic 3-2 win over Saudi Arabia in the early hours of Friday.
Nasiru Salihu opened the scoring for the seven-time African champions in the five-goal thriller after scoring a superb header in the 10th minute of the encounter.
Saudi Arabia equalized 11 minutes later through Amar Al Yuhaybi.
Aliyu Zubairu’s side regained the lead in the 38th minute through right-back Amos Ochoche, who fired home from inside the box.

The Asian team once again restored parity five minutes after the break courtesy of substitute Talal Haji’s wonderful header.
The Flying Eagles, however, netted the winning goal deep into stoppage after team captain, Daniel Bameyi held his nerve and scored from the penalty spot.
With the win, Nigeria climb to third position in Group F with three points from two games.
They will take on Colombia, who earlier drew with Norway in their last group game on Sunday morning.
