Trump condemns burning of American flag, says perpetrators ‘ll be arrested, prosecuted

Trump had earlier signed an executive order instructing prosecutors to pursue criminal charges against individuals who burn American flags during protests.

United States President, Donald Trump, has once again made it clear that those who burn the American flag will not go unpunished, saying anyone caught in the   act will be arrested and prosecuted.

He made this known on Friday in a now trending post he shared on his Truth Social media account.

Trump has long pushed to punish American flag desecration.

In August, the Republican president signed an executive order instructing federal prosecutors to pursue criminal charges against individuals who burn American flags during protests.

However, while speaking in his latest post, the US leader cited the August 25 executive order on flag desecration, and added that offenders will henceforth face one-year prison term.

He wrote, “To ICE, Border Patrol, Law Enforcement, and all U.S. Military: As per my August 25, 2025, Executive Order, please be advised that, from this point forward, anybody burning the American Flag will be subject to one year in prison.

“You will be immediately arrested. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
