Top performer Destiny, others end Madojiemu U-15 Athletics competition on note
The crowd at the Mabel Madojiemu Athletics Champs at Igueben Edo State witnessed a dominant performance from Eluogierior Destiny, who left no one in doubt about his talent.
He started with a gold in the boys’ long jump, leaping 5.63 meters to victory after showing his potential with a 6.30m jump in the prelims.
Destiny wasn’t done, Moments after his long jump win, the young talent took to the tracks and stormed to victory in the 100m in 11.78s leaving the crowd cheering in admiration.
In the girls’ events, Joy Elojienor leaped to victory in the long jump, while Odion Orobosa won gold in the 100m, 12.33 finishing ahead of Osayawe Blessing 12.35
The boys’ 100m sprint was all about speed and determination as Destiny Eluogierior took gold, with Aiegbelen Kester securing silver, and Paul Christian earning bronze.
It was a day of brilliance, and these young athletes have shown they are the future of track and field.
In the shot put girls’ category, Monday Success, with no prior experience, stunned everyone by winning with 8.34m. Omoruyi Mary came second with 7.15m, while Richard Anita finished third.
For the shot put boys, Omosade Okeiwe took the top spot running 11.44m, followed by Efosa Marvelous in second with 11.74m, and Christopher Joseph in third with 11.78m.
It was a dream come true for the organiser Princess Mabel Madojiemu who took the competition to her cimmunity in Igueben, therefore, giving young athletes the opportunity to participate in top athletics action.
