Businessman and All Progressives Congress (APC) 2023 governorship candidate in Rivers State, Tonye Cole, has said the suspended state governor, Sim Fubara, will have ‘zero’ powers when President Bola Tinubu lifts his suspension.
He made this known on Wednesday while featuring as a guest on Channels Television programme, ‘The Morning Brief’.
In March, Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all elected members of Rivers State House of Assembly were suspended for six months by the president.
Tinubu went on to appoint retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas as the state’s administrator to oversee governance.

However, the six months’ suspension will elapse at the end of September and Gov Fubara is expected to return as the governor of the state.
As part of the activities to mark the return of the state to democratic rule, an interdenominational thanksgiving service was held in Port Harcourt on September 13.
Speaking on the imminent return of the governor, Cole said Fubara will find himself in a difficult situation.
The APC chieftain further noted that the governor will not be able to make any decision as a governor without interference.
Cole said, “Rivers, a critical state in Nigeria, had a governor who would not be able to exercise his full authority as an elected leader.”
