AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori has appealed for Chelsea legend John Terry’s understanding after being forced to rank him 10th in a list of the top ten centre-backs of all time.
He apologised to the former England captain recently while participating in a “blind ranking” challenge with SPORTbible.
During the exercise, Tomori was given one name at a time, which he had to rank among the top ten players to have ever played in that position.
The catch was that the Serie A star was not shown the entire list in advance, meaning he had no idea which name would appear next.
During the challenge, Tomori ranked AC Milan legends Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Nesta first and second, while naming Real Madrid icon Sergio Ramos in third.

He also placed Rio Ferdinand and Virgil van Dijk in fifth and sixth positions respectively.
He went on to place Gerard Piqué, Giorgio Chiellini, and Vincent Kompany in seventh, eighth, and ninth.
Terry’s name, however, only appeared when Tomori had the 1st and 10th spots left to fill; having already committed to his top three, he was forced to put him last.
Speaking on his decision to rank Terry 10th, the 28-year-old revealed he would have preferred to place him much higher.
“10… Hey, JT – I’m sorry,” Tomori pleaded. “That makes me feel a little bit better that I put JT 10th, because I knew he was gonna come up. If I were to change it around, maybe I would shift everyone down. So I’d take John Terry out of 10th, slide everyone down, and put John Terry third. That’s what I’d do.”
