Tobi Amusan raises medal hope for Nigeria in women’s 100 Meters Hurdles

The disappointment of the disqualification of, Blessing Okagbure and 10 other Nigerians athletes, has been cushioned with the qualification of Tobi Amusan for women’s 100 Meters Huddles semi- finals.

The African champion qualified beating Jamaica’s Yanique Thompson and Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska who came 2nd and Third respectively in a time of 12.72 (+1.4).

Ranked 4th in d world , she will be expected to book a place in the finals of the event when she takes to the track on Sunday. August 1, 2021.

Amusa is also expected to join a quartet of three other Nigerian athletes to compete in the 4×400 meters relay later in d completion.

In the absence of Okagbure, she will be expected to end the poor outing our contingent to Tokyo Olympics games has so far displayed by winning a medal in this event.
