The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu has owned up to the bullion van spotted in his house on Friday.

Tinubu was asked by a Channels Television reporter if he is the owner of the van and he responded and said he does not work for the government and not also a contractor and therefore free to move money around.

“Let anybody come and prove that I have been awarded a contract in this present administration. I am on my own and I work for the best interest of my party.”

I don’t work for any government agencies. If I have money and I decided to start sharing it, what is your headache?” Tinubu said.

Last week, it was reported that the APC leader was heard on audio asking people to go out and vote that he will pay them. Although he denied the report, his admittance of the bullion casts doubts on his denial.

A bullion van can contain more than N2 billion cash and this contravenes the Money Laundering Act.
