Ace Nigerian singer and songwriter, Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, has eventually received the plaque for the prize she picked at the Grammy Awards earlier in the year.
The 27-year-old singer won the award for the Best Rap Melodic Performance category at the 65th Grammys in February for her contribution to Future’s song ‘Wait For U’ which also featured Drake.
After winning the award, she joined veteran singer, Sade Adu, who won a Grammy in 1986 for the Best New Artist, as the two female artistes with Nigerian heritage to have ever won the prestigious prize.

Her manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi shared the news of the arrival of the plaque via his Instastory on Friday.
He flaunted the Grammy plaque on his social media page without a caption.
Meanwhile, Tems recently spoke about her Grammy win during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine.
In chat, the ‘Try Me’ crooner spoke about how she now performs alongside artistes she used to idolize.
She said; “It is incredible, I get to work with people that five years ago were on my playlist. I was jamming to them and now I am working with them, it is such a pleasure and I feel like this is just the beginning.
“The song, ‘with U’ was taken from my record, Higher, they reached out to me and they told me they would use it as a sample and I felt it was amazing. I thought the song was interesting and amazing the way it got together.”
Tem was nominated in the Best Global Performance category last year for her hit song with Wizkid ‘Essence’ but lost to Pakistan’s Arooj Aftab.
