The supreme court has sacked Emmanuel Bwacha as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba state.
Delivering judgment on Wednesday, February 1, a five-member panel led by Kudirat Kekere-Ekun affirmed the verdict of the federal high court which held that the APC did not conduct any valid governorship primary in the state
Bwacha was first removed as the APC’s governorship candidate in Taraba State on September 2022 by a federal high court of the state, after a governorship aspirant, David Sabo Kente filed a suit challenging his nomination

But the Yola Division of the Court of Appeal set aside the judgment of the Federal High Court which delivered its judgment in Jalingo, Taraba State.
Consequently, the appellate court upheld the election of Bwacha as the governorship candidate of the APC in Taraba State.
However, the Supreme Court in the latest ruling affirmed the verdict of the federal high court that the APC’s governorship primary in Taraba State that produced Bwacha was not valid.
