Opta’s supercomputer has backed North London club Arsenal to win the English Premier League (EPL), while also naming them favourites for the UEFA Champions League (UCL).
The algorithm gave the Gunners an 85.2 per cent chance of clinching the Premier League title ahead of their closest rivals, Manchester City, this season.
Regarding the Champions League, the supercomputer also named Mikel Arteta’s men as favourites, with a 54.6 per cent chance of success.

According to the data, Arsenal have a 46.5 per cent chance of winning both trophies and a 46.8 per cent chance of winning at least one of the two.
Conversely, the Premier League leaders have only a 6.7 per cent chance of finishing the season without either trophy.
On Sunday, the Gunners travel to face relegation-threatened West Ham in a London derby that could prove highly consequential in their quest for the league title after 22 years.
