Nnamani has advised the Imo governor, Hope uzodimma, to desist from attempting to “colonize” the party, especially in the South East geo-political zone.

Apparently dissatisfied with what he viewed as the unhealthy role the Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma, is playing in the affairs of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria, former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, has advised the Imo governor to desist from attempting to “colonize” the party, especially in the South East geo-political zone.
Nnamani gave this advice in Enugu on Thursday, January 26, 2023, when he spoke on the current situation of things in the South East APC.
The former Senate President blamed what he described as the orchestrated “meddlesomeness” of governor Hope Uzodimma in the party especially in his political domain, Enugu State, saying that it is not unexpected, as according to him, the governor had attempted same in some South East states, including Anambra, but unfortunately failed in such mission.
Nnamani maintains, however, that Uzodimma will soon realize that the case of Enugu is different from his State, Imo.

Nnamani stated: “It will be a grievous error on my part if l dare dignify governor Hope Uzodimma’s inordinate ambition to build a political colony in the South East. His meddlesomeness in Enugu politics is not unexpected. He tried such in Anambra and elsewhere and all ended in abysmal failure. It will not be long before he finds out that Enugu is not Imo”.
Crisis rocking the zonal wing of the APC, boiled over on Wednesday, January 11, when leading members of the party boycotted Presidential campaign rally of Ahmed Bola Tinubu in Enugu State.
Among the stakeholders that shunned the rally which took place at Okpara Square were Senator Nnamani, Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, former Enugu Governor, Sullivan Chime, former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Eugene Odoh, former Secretary to the State Government, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani.
Also absent were the Director-General of Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu, the immediate past chairman of the Party in the State, Ben Nwoye and a presidential aide, Mrs. Juliet Ibekaku.
They were at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu earlier in the day to welcome the presidential candidate of the party but disappeared from there to Chime’s residence in Enugu.
Chime said that their absence at the rally was to send a clear signal to the national leadership of the APC that something urgently must be done over the crisis in the Enugu State chapter of the party.
Also, Nnamani, while expressing anger, regretted that the party had been hijacked by an external body from Imo State, in obvious reference to Uzodimma.
