Speed Darlington argues that President Tinubu has not achieved enough since assuming office in 2023 to merit another term.

Nigerian singer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has dismissed President Bola Tinubu’s performance so far, claiming that if his re-election bid is successful, Nigeria will become like “hellfire”.
The controversial artist shared these views on Wednesday in a video posted to his official Instagram page, where he criticised the President’s ambition for a second term.
Darlington lamented what he described as government policy failures, structural issues, economic miscalculations, and worsening insecurity.
According to Darlington, President Tinubu has not achieved sufficient results since taking office in 2023 to deserve a return to power.

He further criticised the President for removing the fuel subsidy, suggesting that another four years under the Tinubu administration would only worsen the current predicament of Nigerians.
Addressing the President in the now-trending clip, Darlington said: “You are here breaking your neck to become the next President of Nigeria, but you’re not qualified to be President again. From your first term, we already know that your second term is going to be hellfire.
“When you came into office in 2023, the first thing you did was remove the subsidy, knowing very well that every aspect of Nigerian life is tied to petroleum. You gave those in the oil sector thousands of reasons to inflate fuel prices, knowing full well that Nigerians are naturally greedy. Just tell me, what qualifies you for a second term?
“You are not qualified anymore; you don’t know the job. You haven’t done anything about the rising insecurity across Nigeria.”
