Human rights activist and former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the decision of President Donald Trump to withdraw the United States of America from the World Health Organization (WHO).

The former senator made his feelings known in a post he shared on his X page on Monday, saying ‘disruption’ in the United States has started.

Prior to this development, TheNiche had reported that President Trump on Monday night signed an executive order withdrawing his country from the WHO.

He gave the order a few hours after his inauguration as the 47th president of the US.

The move, which was widely anticipated, will see the US leave the global health body within a year from the official notification to the United Nations and the WHO, which Trump tasked the newly confirmed Secretary of State Marco Rubio to do.

The text of Monday’s executive order cites the “organization’s mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic that arose out of Wuhan, China, and other global health crises, its failure to adopt urgently needed reforms, and its inability to demonstrate independence from the inappropriate political influence of WHO member states,” as reasons for the US withdrawal.

While reacting to the decision, Shehu Sani noted that Trump has started disrupting things in America.

The former senator tweeted, “The disruption has started.”

Prior to the decision of the US president to sign the executive order, Shehu Sani had described Trump as a ‘disruptor‘.

Speaking via his verified social media handle, he noted that the newly inaugurated US leader would be a great challenge to the world.
