British pundit and former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer has insisted that Moisés Caicedo was the key difference-maker in the Chelsea squad, despite Jordan Henderson’s brilliance and brace during the Blues’ 5-1 demolition of Bournemouth on Sunday.

The former England international made this known while analysing the encounter on the Match of the Day programme.

While discussing the match, Shearer acknowledged that the former Liverpool midfielder was brilliant alongside Chelsea’s front three on the day.

He, however, insisted that Ecuadorian international Caicedo makes the difference, noting he was highly effective and makes things look simple for the Blues.

“The front three were brilliant again, as well as Jordan Henderson.

“But Caicedo makes such a difference to this Chelsea team because of his experience and his ability in that midfield, both defensively and when he wins that ball. He makes things look pretty simple, but he is so effective in what he does,” Shearer argued.
