A sex worker has died in a violent argument with a male customer at a brothel in the cathedral area of Akure over his demand for a refund of N15,000 he paid the woman because she did not allow him to complete the act.
A source disclosed that disagreement began when the woman stood up during the act and complained to the customer of sudden weakness.
“The customer became enraged, resulting in a heated verbal and physical confrontation,” the source told The Nation.
The manager of the brothel intervened but all attempts were unsuccessful to calm the nerves of the man, who insisted on a refund of N15,000 he paid the sex worker.
According to the source, the woman refused to refund the customer who then left the brothel premises and returned with a group of miscreants to forcibly retrieve the payment from the sex worker.
“The arrival of the suspect with others to escalate the confrontation – that prompted the brothel manager to place a distress call to the police.
“A patrol team was mobilised to the scene, arriving promptly and finding the suspect and his accomplices attempting to recover the money by force, while the victim’s condition continued to deteriorate,” he said.
The sex worker was rushed to a nearby hospital in the Lafe area but was rejected and referred to another hospital due to her condition but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Ondo Police Command spokesperson Ayanlade Olayinka confirmed the incident and said three suspects have been arrested over the death of the sex worker, with the police searching for two more suspects.
He disclosed that the body of the sex worker has been deposited at the State Specialist Hospital morgue for autopsy.
